IEL and INTERCOLLEGIATE in Area VII
The USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program and the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) are two initiatives designed to engage young riders in eventing at the collegiate and junior levels. The Intercollegiate Program connects college students with a shared passion for eventing, offering team competitions and the opportunity to compete in the annual USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship. Meanwhile, the IEL targets junior riders in grades 5 through 12, encouraging participation through team-based IEL Clubs, with competitions held at recognized horse trials. Area 7 hosts four IEL events each year, providing ample opportunities for riders to compete and engage in the sport.
Find a Team/Join Team
Whether you're looking to start a team or join an existing one, becoming part of the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program or the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) is a great way to connect with like-minded riders. To start a team, simply gather a group of riders from your school, barn, or local community, and register with the USEA to compete in team events. If you're interested in joining a team, reach out to local riders or institutions that are already involved in the program and inquire about opportunities to participate. Both programs offer an incredible way to build camaraderie, improve skills, and compete at events throughout the year!
