Young Rider Representatives

The Area VII Young Riders have two Young Rider Representatives, one a Young Rider Representative and the other a Junior Young Rider Representative. These positions are identified as role models whom provide guidance to other area Young Riders and are available to address concerns, support and encouragement at the peer to peer level.

Olivia Remcho
2018-2020 Area VII Junior Young Rider Representative

Olivia has been the Young Rider Representative for two years now. She is a sophomore at Corvallis High School, in Oregon, and rides at Willamette Sport Horses. She has been eventing for 9 years and a member of the Area VII Young Riders for 5 years.

Olivia has competed through the preliminary level and is currently bringing along her young horse, Jack, at the training level. She has groomed at NAYC and is a working student as well. She’s always around at shows, clinics, and socials so be sure to stop by and ask any questions about the program, get a hand with anything, or just say hello!

Emmie Everett
2018-2020 Area VII Young Rider Representative

Emmie has been eventing for 11 years and actively competing for 4 years and rides out of Grand Farms in Vaughn, WA with Anni Grandia. Emmie groomed at NAYC in 2017 for the CICOY2* team and has competed through intermediate. She has goals to complete a CCI 3*-S in the 2019 season.

Emmie is currently transferring to Central Washington University to finish her bachelors in Exercise Science in the fall of 2019. She is at the majority of the shows in Area VII, either riding, grooming or supporting friends, so if you see her do not hesitate to stop and chat. She will also answer questions about the Area VII Young Rider Program and is willing to lend a hand if you need help.

Qualifications for the Young Rider representative include actively competing in Prelim and above, and qualifications for the Junior Young Rider representative include actively competing Beginner Novice and above.  Representatives end their two year terms with gaining experience in professional settings, learning how to balance many tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a positive upbeat sprit. These positions are very rewarding in the fact that they allow the Young Riders themselves to give back to the Eventing community and let them personally make a difference in our sport by being a leader.

There is no better honor then being an Area VII Young Rider representative let alone the chance to give back to our Eventing community.
