To Everyone in Area VII:
I am humbled by the response of so many of you in Area VII to the news of Amy’s passing. Over the past weeks, we’ve been fortunate to share memories of her with you and are touched by your thoughtful gestures. Most appreciated are the stories of your experiences with Amy. Whether funny or silly or anything else, “Amy tales” continue to comfort me. Amy left her mark, but more important she was so grateful to Area VII for the support. She was truly proud to have represented Area VII to the rest of the eventing world.
It has been my pleasure to get to know you, the members of Area VII, over the last 30+ years and to share your experiences at the events. (I am known to cheer for everyone on cross-country–never having figured how any sane person could possibly consider doing that! At some point I’ll be back fence judging or pitching in any way I can at some of the events. Please feel free to say, “Hi.”
Team Tryon has decided to keep Amy’s website active for the forseeable future. Please go to www.teamtryon.com for updates or email me @ email@example.com to put you on the list for updates..
Thank you so much to all of you. It’s been a GRAND journey, and I look forward to cheering you on in the future.
Jemi Cain (aka Amy’s mom)

“This is the first Area VII event since we lost a very dear friend, and a legendary eventer, Amy Tryon. For all her international success, Amy never forgot where she came from, and always remained one of us. As an example, the Turner family have told me how much they have appreciated Amy’s support over the years here at the Northwest Equestrian Center. So on behalf of the Turners and all of us who have been lucky enough to call Amy Tryon our friend, I would like to invite each and every competitor, trainer, official, organizer, parent, and eventing enthusiast to join us at 6:15 tonight, on the grassy slope on the West side of the show jumping warm-up, in a brief but very special tribute to Amy’s extraordinary life and career. You will be photographed, so wear your brightest clothes–no earth tones!–and we’ll see you tonight”.
Announcement that Kevin Baumgardner made before the gathering in memory of Amy. Our large and colorful community will not forget her.
There are still openings for the Adult Rider camp and auditors are welcome. Anyone interested should email Maggie ASAP !(firstname.lastname@example.org)
If you would like to send your comments to the USEA concerning an Event you have participated in, here is the link to do so. This is a great way to let Headquarters and Organizers get some feedback on any given competition, both positive and negative. Please e-mail the completed form to your Area Chair Melissa Beardsley or send it to her address that is listed at the bottom of the page.
Results are up for this weekend’s NWEC Horse Trials. Here is the link. Our season is now officially under way and the sun was shinning!
We now have an up and running e-mail address for our Area VII website that is located at the bottom of row two on our Homepage. Please use it to contact our Area Chair Melissa Beardsley or any of the Web crew for any specific questions that you would like to ask and prefer not to use the Comments link for any given article. If you have any pictures that you would like us to consider for posting, please use this e-mail address as well. We want to keep in touch with all of you!
We just received this information about the Woodbrook Hunt Pony Club One Day Event being held at NWEC on Saturday June 16th. We know everyone is starting to make competition plans so put this one on your list as well. It will be up on the calendar shortly.
For our first full, up and running month, we have bombarded you with announcements, updates, news, pictures and more, on our rebuilt Area VII website. The idea has been to get the attention of our members and provide useful tools in one spot that relate to our Eventing community. Hopefully we have accomplished that, with more things in the works. The 10,000 hits we had in April on the website make all the effort worthwhile! Thank You.
